1. No Buying New BooksNow, this sounds awful, but I have sooooooooooo many unread books that I am going to go a whole year without buying a new book. But there are some exceptions to this, of course, and it doesn't mean I can't borrow new books from the library. Basically, I'm only allowed to buy books that I know I'm going to read, and these are books by the following authors: 1. Nora Roberts - I can't not buy anything she releases this year! 2. Cathryn Hein 3. Barbara Hannay 4. Michelle Douglas 5. Mandy Magro I may also buy some others at my discretion, but basically, I'm not allowed to go 'oh, that sounds good' and buy a random book. 2. Read a book by all my Facebook friendsam now friends with soooo many fellow writers and while I have read a lot of them, there are many writers that I haven't given a chance. So these are some of the new authors I want to try this year (if you're not on the list, then I've read at least one of your books). - Melanie Milburne - Erin Grace - Fiona Marsden - Valerie Parv - Annie West - Ally Blake - Frances Housden - Ebony McKenna - Tea Cooper - Anne Gracie - Nicola Marsh - Emily Madden - Leisl Leighton - Fiona Lowe Just to name a few... 3. Start the In Death SeriesI've avoided doing this for one reason - there are more than 30 (or 40?) books to this series and I'm afraid that when I start I won't be able to stop. But I think I'm a very bad romance and Nora fan if I don't give Eve and Roarke a go, right? 4. Read more fantasyJust for fun - I'm currently into Throne of Glass and I may even pick up the Bloodlines series considering I bought them all on release day and never read a single word. Plus, I have some Nora fantasies I haven't read yet, so this is a rather attainable goal. 5. Read more crimeJust a little bit...I don't think I'm keen to get into police procedural's or anything, but I really like the crime subgenres of domestic noir or psychological thrillers. I have quite a few on my shelf worth reading. 6. Devour category romancesThis is where my reading total will skyrocket - the category romances that are short, sweet, and so much fun to read! Considering this is what I'm also keen to write more of, this will be my biggest niche this year and I hope to complete at least one a week. Should be easy to do, I think.
